Elements & Co. themes themselves as a lifestyle space, bringing together all the different elements from the owners’ travel adventures.
Think Australian coffee, Morrocan Kebabs, Piri Piri Chicken and Risotto.

Occupying a relatively huge space on the ground level of Flight Centre, the cafe is airy with a relaxed ambience especially with the sofa seats on one side of the café.
Quite a quiet place to get lost in the space.

For a “lifestyle café” which focuses on serving healthy food, their coffee served here was unexpectedly not bad. Turns out that the Genovese beans they use are sourced directly from Melbourne.
The Cappuccino ($4.5) was smooth, with an acidity level which was not too high. Meanwhile, the Iced Matcha Latte ($5.5) tasted a tad too healthy, or diluted. Could be richer and milkier, we suppose.

The Frenchie’s Summer Salad ($13) was quite a good mix of textures with the puy lentils, zucchini, kale, promegranate, sunflower seeds, mesclun and chicken fillet. The Piri Piri chicken could be more tender though.
Vegetarians can opt for the Mediterranean Quinoa Salad ($11) instead.

Mama’s Cod Fish Risotto ($13) – cod fish, millet risotto, garlic, shitake and shimeji mushrooms, fresh coriander.
This risotto dish uses millet, a gluten-free grain, as an alternative to the normal short rice grain for risottos. Unfortunately, the risotto was blander than expected due to the lack of a creamy, cheesy base. The cod fish was also not tender enough to our liking.

Amongst all the dishes we had that day, the Moroccan Souk Kebabs ($14) was our favourite.
Apparently, the owners got the inspiration for this dish from their visit to Souk in Marrakech.
The two skewers of lamb kebabs were firm yet not too dry. They were topped on a mixture of quinoa, pumpkin, chickpea, sultana, onion and almond. The ras el hanout 10 spice mix (a spice blend for Moroccan and North African food) added flavor and spice to the healthy quinoa base.

Elements & Co. has potential for growth, what with their good coffees, nice ambience and friendly service. It is also one of the more affordable healthy food stops around, taking into account their portion sizes.
The main challenge for them would be to incorporate both elements of health and taste into their dishes.
