It won’t be difficult to ’jio’ friends for this. “LOBSTERS?! ALL types of lobsters, ALL you can eat for one price” Ah-huh.
Have been a fan of Lime and also included it as one of my 10 Best Hotel Buffets & Sunday Brunches in Singapore.

What I liked about this Lobsterfest at Lime Restaurant is the presentation of both International and local flavours, with sufficient variety to suit different diners.
Also, Maine Lobsters are used, known for their distinctively sweet, succulent white meat and rich flavours.

Here’s what Lime’s Executive Chef Deepak and the culinary team has prepared, with Maine lobsters cooked in 10 different ways.

Maine Lobster Thermidor with Persillade Crust
This was unanimously our favourite dish, sooooo good that we wanted to have seconds (or even thirds).
When this arrived, we initially thought “matcha”? The powdery green on the lobsters are chopped herbs and parsley.
Within the lobster shell are chunks of lobster meat cooked with mushroom in a light creamy sauce.
Can I also direct you to the accompanying truffle salt? Dip just a dash and that would further enhance the flavours.

Lobster Bisque based Risotto with Mascarpone and Lobster Meat
Everyone in our table enjoyed this dish as well, so much so that we scraped our plates clean.
The risotto was prepared à la minute, and so came piping hot with that seductive aroma. Chef used lobster bisque to cook the medium-grained Carnaroli rice, which gave the base a bold lobster flavour.
Using mascarpone also gave the risotto a luxurious creamy consistency, yet not over. Truly tasty.

Maine Lobster with Truffled Hollandaise Sauce and Espelette
Chef Deepak who is trained in French cooking and previously the Executive Chef at PARKROYAL Melbourne, incorporates some French influences into the lobster dishes.
Espelette pepper is originally used in the south-west of France to cure hams, and this deep-red powdered power sprinkled on top of the lobsters gives that extra mild spicy touch.
Creamy rich sauces such as hollandaise work well with the flavours of truffle, for that ‘magical’ boost and whiff just before the spoonful enters the mouth.

You can also expect Lobster Mac and Cheese with Truffle Salsa, and Lobster Salad with Exotic Vegetables and Wasabi Aioli for a contrasting refreshing take of lobsters.
As for the local lobster dishes…

Maine Lobster with Salted Eggs
Since salted eggs is all in the rage right now… I would expect this dish to be fastest to be snapped up. So go for the buffet line early enough.
I personally would prefer a wetter moist version. Though the sight of red lobsters generously coated with luscious, grainy salted egg sauce will continue tempt many.

Singapore Laksa with Lobster
There is something about chunky lobster meat soaking up aromatic laksa gravy, served in a claypot.
This version of laksa was not as lemak as I originally imagined, instead has quite a spicy soup stock in deep orangey-red.

Other familiar favourites include Spicy “Singapore-style” Chilli Lobster with deep fried mantou, and Black Pepper Lobster with Curry Leaves.
In general, I would personally prefer the Western style dishes in its execution, which also somehow brought out the natural flavours of the lobsters better.

Without exaggerating, this was perhaps the one time I had the most number of lobsters in a single sitting, and turned up to be satisfying without feeling queasy (do pace yourself).
The complimentary signature Limenade served in an old-school-canteen style mug helped, like a refreshing summer quencher.
Of course the buffet dinner includes more than just lobster.

Do check out other signatures including six types of international cheeses and their accompaniments, unlimited servings of sushi and sashimi, rotisserie chicken with roasted vegetables from the hot western selection, and the long dessert table with Key Lime Pie and MATCHA fondue.

My suspicion is that the Lobsterfest will likely be a hugely popular, and a sell-out especially during the weekends. So do gather your families and friends, and make your reservations early.
