Changi City Point, directly opposite EXPO MRT station, is where my friends would go to shop for sportswear, buy at outlets of their favourite brands, get electronics at Challenger (their flagship store is based there), amongst others.

It is also a mall where you can ”Eat Your Way Around The World” with a wide range of restaurants and cafes from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, European to Indonesian food.

You may not know of The Oasis, an al fresco concept which houses The RessRoom, Table Manners, MOA Tiki New Zealand Bar & Grill and FIVE IZAKAYA Bar.

Feeling the need to have some wallet-friendly meals for the next gathering with family and friends. Here are 10 Super Value For Money Restaurants At Changi City Point. No kidding, some of the offers are REALLY attractive.

RessRoom
Changi City Point #01-72/73 (The Oasis)
Tel: +65 6636 3226
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

Spanish and German flavours under one roof? RessRoom is a restaurant bar, with a menu that offers some of your European favourites for the next Spanish tapas party.

Crispy-outside, juicy-inside R&R Pork Knuckle (Roasted pork knuckle served with sauerkraut and gherkin), Squid Ink Pasta, Duck Confit and Stuffed Mexican Jalapenos will make the get-togethers and celebrations satisfying.

Plus, there is live music from Wednesday to Friday evenings. Happening.

Look out for this RessRoom’s wallet-friendly Set Dinner, available at $38.90++ for a limited period.

This includes an appetiser of Smoked Salmon Roll with Mascarpone Cheese in Balsamic dressing, Main Course of 250G US Grain Fed Ribeye Steak with Asparagus and Cherry Tomatoes in Yakiniku Sauce, and New York Cheesecake.

A good reason to travel to this Oasis.

MOA Tiki New Zealand Bar & Grill
Changi City Point #01-70/71 (The Oasis)
Tel: +65 6636 3353
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

For New Zealander beer and grilled meats, MOA offers some of the most extensive award-winning beers and wines from New Zealand.

Therefore, MOA’s unbeatable Set Dinner at $45++ (U.P $75++) includes beer and wine pairing.

So come expecting truffle-scented fresh Mushroom Soup beautifully paired with Expresso Martini; Surf & Turf of char grilled Sirloin Steak with Slipper Lobster paired with Sauvignon Blanc; added with a dessert of Caramel Bananas paired with Jägermeister or Port.

3 items, 3 alcohols for $45++? They are serious.

TungLok Signatures
Changi City Point #01-26/27
Tel: +65 6636 0606
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

The restaurant for family dinners and colleague meet-ups. TungLok Signatures is a familiar name to many, known for their range of modern Cantonese, Shanghainese and Sichuan dishes.

The Set Meal at $58++ (U.P $83++) offers some rather innovative Chinese dishes, cooked using quality premium ingredients.

My favourite dish was easily the Shitake Mushrooms Trio – one of the items was actually a mushroom-filled fluff bun made to look like a mushroom. How clever.

The other of my favourite was the Pan-fried Lobster Steak in special Chef’s homemade sauce. Not kidding, there is LOBSTER in this wallet-friendly set.

The above two plus Double-boiled Sea Treasure served in Mini Organic Pumpkin, Braised Minced Pork Rice with Egg, ending with a sweet dessert of Chilled Coconut Ice-cream with Purple Rice Purée served in Mini Coconut.

Lian Peng Bak Kut Teh
Changi City Point #01-28
Tel: +65 6538 4366
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

Lian Peng Bak Kut Teh serves up clear, peppery Teochew-style Bak Kut Teh, as well as other popular Teochew dishes and sides such as Braised Duck, Braised Pig Trotter, Hae Bee Hiam, Salted Vegetable, and Beancurd.

You would realise that several items taste like what is served in a Teochew restaurant. That is because Head Chef Tan boosts of more than three decades of culinary experience in Teochew cuisine.

Now you can enjoy 30% off the dinner set (good excuse to order more food!)

Other than the Bak Kut Teh and Braised Pig’s Trotter, my personal recommendation is the Hae Bee Hiam which should spice up your bowl of rice and dinner.

Jollibee
Changi City Point #01-37/38
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

Fan of fried chicken? Philippines’s favourite fried chicken shop Jollibee has opened at Changi City Point.

This Western fast food chain is known to offer some of the best fried chicken around (friends from Philippines say this reminds them of home), and it also serves burgers, spaghetti, and rice meal.

Most diners would dip the crispy batter in the tasty signature brown gravy (while I like to pour), then enjoy savour the juicy, slight oily meat.

Here’s something that may turn you jollier – A 2 piece Chickenjoy with regular side ala carte now goes for $4.95! Add $1 for a medium soda to quench your thirst. Available on weekdays, for dine in and take-away transactions only.

Idaten Udon
Changi City Point #B1-12/13
Tel: +65 6636 1736
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

Idaten is a NEW Udon restaurant where you can mix and match smooth udon, sides and tempura.

Customising your own udon bowl is fun, and I noted they have Original, Matcha and Japanese Pepper Togarashi flavoured Udon.

If you like the more ‘original’ taste, go for their specialty Kamatama Udon which comes with a half-boiled egg. Complete the Udon Meal with a choice of tempura for below $12.

My recommendation would be the Spicy Miso Pork Udon ($9.20) which has a kimchi soybean broth, and Seafood Udon ($10.80) generously added with tiger prawn, scallop, crabstick, and oyster mushroom. Available till 5 Sep 2016.

Ootoya
Changi City Point #01-30/31
Tel: +65 6636 1228
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

Ootoya is where you can go for trying affordable, healthy home-style Japanese cuisine from Donburi, Udon, Soba to Bento sets.

Do you know that Ootoya makes its own tofu and dashi soup stocks, shaves its own bonito flakes, marinates all its meats, and do not use any added preservatives and flavourings?

This dish, seldom seen in Singapore, should get Japanese-food-lovers trying.

Gyutang (生姜醤油漬け炭火焼牛タン定食), aka Grilled Marinated Beef-Tongue on a hot stone ($23.50 for set, $18.50 for ala carte). WAH. Tongue?

The tongues can be dipped into the accompanying miso, made slightly spicy with green pepper to bring out the natural taste of the beef tongue.

There is also complimentary dessert with an order of the Gyutang set. While stocks last.

The Soup Spoon Union
Changi City Point #B1-24/25
Tel: +65 6636 3142
Opening Hours: 11am – 10pm (Weekend, PH Brunch from 11am – 3pm)

The Soup Spoon Union at Changi City Point houses 3 concepts – The Soup Spoon (which many should be familiar with), The Handburger and The Grill Knife. For you to satisfy cravings of wholesome soups, burgers, steaks and healthy salads all at one place.

The Handburger’s distinctive feature is in providing hand-crafted burgers both tasty and healthy.

The Handburger’s Grilled Rosemary Chicken Set at $10 (U.P $12.80) includes grilled rosemary chicken breast, cheddar cheese, pesto mushroom, caesar dressing with butterhead lettuce and tomato on a toasted brioche bun. The set also comes with a side of salad and drink.

Valid till 14 Aug 2016, 6pm onwards. Only available at The Soup Spoon Union Changi City Point – Valid from Mondays to Fridays, from 6pm onwards. – The Handburger’s Grilled Rosemary Chicken Set

Pondok Kartika
Changi City Point #01-44
Tel: +65 6604 7467
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm

Pondok Kartika is a Halal Indonesian restaurant serving favourites of Satay Kartika, Ayam Panggang Bali, Ayam Goreng Istimewa, Sop Betawi, Udang Petai Belado and Tahu and Telur.

If you want a fulfilling Indonesian meal, go for the Kampong Set Meal ($9.90) which includes Tahu Tetur, Sayur Lodeh and Sapi/Beef Rendang.

St Marc Café
Changi City Point #01-18/19
Opening Hours: 8am – 10pm

You may not know the Japan-based St Marc Café now serves Sandwiches, in choices of Chilli Tuna & Tomato, Grilled Chicken & Basil, Smoked Salmon Cheese & Potato, Beef Pastrami & Swiss Cheese, and Prawn & Egg Salad.

Better news.

Order your Sandwich Set from 5pm onwards, and get one FREE Pastry.

Other than the flaky Original Chococro (Chocolate + Croissant), other flavours available include White Chocolate. Plus something NEW on the menu… Premium Chelsea Chococro.

Chelsea? That is a long-time selling candy produced by Meiji, tasting similar to a traditional Scottish candy. Just like having sticky caramel within a croissant. Yums.
