[Bangkok] Coffee is subjective. I won’t go into details about the acidity, aroma, balance, complexity of this coffee. All I know is I like it. (Read: 10 Best Cafes At Bangkok Thonglor)
Roots Coffee Bar has been one of my favourite places to grab a cup of caffeine, now located at The Commons Bangkok at Thonglor Soi 17.

Some background: The coffee purveyor is opened by the same team behind the popular café Roast.
Previously located at Ekkamai and opened for limited hours during the weekends, its new-found home has made coffee fans very glad. (Though some would comment it lost its previous charm.)

During my last trip, I actually chose to skip coffee at Roast (upstairs Level 4) to have it here. I am sure they are very similar if you pick the same choice of beans, but somehow the vibes and execution are different.

Roots is known to source and roast some of the best coffee beans from around the world, and they also work with Thai farmers to improve their livelihood and coffee-growing quality in Thailand.
Besides espresso based coffee, filter coffee as well as cold brew are available.

The two highlights for me is the fruity Cold Brew (100 baht), offered fresh from the tap.
There is also a Barista’s Choice which offers winning drinks from a barista competition.

Also, look out for their Special Cold Brew Of The Month.
In June, I had a Honey Malt Cold Brew added with honey melon, and a refreshing and alluring Chinotto Cold Brew with grapefruit just last week.

Some of the baristas would strike a conversation if they are not busy in their work (which I appreciate); while the rest would just do their thing.
Fresh beans, balanced taste (for me), skilful execution… have an espresso or cold brew here.
