[Bangkok] Pacamara Coffee Roasters has opened their first flagship roasters boosting a speciality coffee lab at, where else, Thonglo.

Serial café hoppers in Singapore should be familiar with the Pacamara brand, and their Boutique Coffee Roasters at Upper Thomson still in my personal ranking as one of top cafes available locally.
The third wave coffee movement is vibrant in Bangkok, and the Espresso Friend group (which is behind the Pacamara brand) has been integral in this push.
Pacamara roasts their own coffee, uses top-notch machines (the Slayer for example), and baristas receive intense training. Bearing in mind that the founder is the only Thai lead instructor of the Specialty Coffee Association of America.
In fact when I was this Bangkok lab, I spotted two baristas from Singapore’s branch who was there for an exchange programme.
Compared to the other Bangkok outlet at RainHill Retail Mall which is considered boutique sized, this is well… like more than a bungalow.
There is a space for coffee workshops on the ground floor, and several meeting room type spaces on the upper. You can just imagine the likes of designers and artists brainstorming over cuppa.
The menu contains the typical café brunch items such as Waffle Ham and Cheese (230 baht), Truffle Egg Benedict (250 baht), Croque Madame (220 baht); a couple of main courses of Salmon Fish & Chip (180 baht), Signature Pork Burger (290 baht); pasta, salad, bingsu and cakes.
If you need something for Instagram, order the Very Berry Green Tea Pancake (220baht).
Exclusive to this outlet is the Snow Cold Brew (130 baht). Think about it as coffee jelly at the bottom, bingsu-like shaved milky ice in the middle, with cold brew poured over for a dramatic effect.
While it is still early days for this coffee space, you probably should squeeze in this into your itinerary if you are venturing Thong Lor next.
