[NEW] CBD friends will get another choice for your caffeine fix, with coffee kiosk Kyu Coffee Bar right outside Prudential Tower along Cecil Street.
The name “KYU” is the Japanese numeric for “nine”.
That is because Kyu Coffee Bar is the project launch by Nine Press Group, which focuses on spreading coffee knowledge. (One of the directors is C.R @xlbcr, and I have mad love for his food photos.)
Like a minimalist theme Japanese café, the appearance and offering of Kyu Coffee Bar is simple.
Selection includes White Coffee roasted by Knockhouse ($5, $6), Black Coffee ($4.50, $5.50), Mocha ($5.50), Matcha ($5.50), Chocolate ($5.50) with iced versions costing a dollar more.
Drip Coffee (roasted by Knockhouse and Nylon) is also available at $4 – $6, along with light bites such as Earl Grey Tea Cake and Croissant from PAUL.
As I do buy coffee often enough Raffles Place, I thought that the price range could be a 50c to a dollar more than the average, especially when this is not a sit-down concept.
I am a fan of Knockhouse’s coffee (available at Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters, The Botanist) so it was not difficult for me to like Kyu’s cup, which had a deep yet balanced touch.
