Making its round on social media, one cannot help but being attracted to Lickety’s visually appealing pastel-colored shop front as well as their eye-catching Hong Kong-styled egglet（鸡蛋仔）served in a bouquet.
The color combination reminded me of unicorns, My Little Pony, and rainbow pastel paddle pop ice cream.

The egglet trend first originated from Oddies Foodies found at Hong Kong, after which Singapore had a series of egglet products sprouting from 2016.
Hvala, The Coffee Academics, NICEDAY… some of them had already moved on from egglets.
However, that didn’t deter Lickety from reigniting peoples’ love for these egglet desserts.

Located at Bussorah Street in the vicinity of Kampong Glam, the pastel-colored shop front stood out amidst the row of Turkish eateries, naturally attracting crowd to satisfy their sweet tooth or hide from the scorching hot weather.

In addition, the shop is opened by the team behind Halal-certified Fika Swedish Café & Bistro and Konditori Artisan Bakery, allowing them to garner support from our Muslim community.

Lickety carries a wide assortment of ice cream flavour ranging from Earl Grey & Fig, Speculoos to more Asian flavors such as Taro Yam & Coconut and Mao Shan Wang Durian.
Single scoop ice cream is available from $4.50 onwards.

You can then build-your-own fanciful egglet waffle (Single Scoop & Topping for $8.90, Double Scoop & Toppings for $11.90) with the choice of buttermilk or red velvet as waffle base and selection of toppings ranging from pocky, marshmallow and fruit loops etc.

I went for the Matcha Green Tea and Thai Milk Tea ice cream but found both flavors slightly too creamy for my liking and tasted somewhat similar.
The individual flavors could be stronger as the milk flavor was overpowering.
Asked my friends on how they felt and they were like, “Ok lor, Chio only”.

While the insta-worthy dessert is definitely visually appealing, perhaps some tweaking of ice cream recipe could be done to improve on the flavor.
Else, it would be quite a pity for their strong identity branding to risk being another passing fad.
