[Bangkok] Nowhere is one of the newest and hottest eatery in Ekkamai, a thriving neighbourhood in downtown Bangkok.

Found on the sixth floor of the Tha City Loft Hotel, it promises quite a view.

This rooftop restaurant is unlike other similar venues found around the capital. Its awesome decor was coupled with a laid-back vibe, encompassing comfort and an easy charm.

The interior was put together in such a way so as to foster a suitable socializing space for diners to enjoy.

The decor was minimalistic but interesting all the same. This included unique finds throughout the quaint, rooftop venue, and ‘stairs to nowhere’.

Even though it was located only at the 6th storey, the design of floor to ceiling windows provided diners with impeccable views of the city below.

Various flavours from around the world, when utilised by the expert culinary team at Nowhere, make up this venue’s varied and colourful Eurasian menu.

Diners will find soups, salads, snacks, appetizers, pizza, pastas, a number of mains, and, of course, delicious desserts on the menu.

One of the most interesting dishes I had was the Watermelon Salad (240 baht, SGD9.90), a traditional Thai recipe made up of tossed watermelon and served with fresh baby spinach, feta cheese, and bonito flakes.

Other noteworthy dishes included the Shrimp and Chorizo Pasta (360 baht, SGD14.80), the Harissa Pork Ribs (529 baht, SGD21.80), and the Iberico Lamb Chops in Moroccan Spice (starts at 750 baht, SGD30.90).

Each dish was unique and combined just the right amount of foreign flavours to bring out the best.

Even after a dish was devoured and the stomach’s seemingly unable to inhale anymore, another dish would be served and room would still be made for one more helping of the amazing Eurasian cuisine.

My favourite dessert was the Poached Pear (280 baht, SGD11.50) – a warm pear poached in red wine and spices, and served with homemade vanilla ice cream.

What sets this restaurant and bar apart was its laid-back vibe.

Rooftop bars in Bangkok are normally exclusive and glossy, attracting the best-dressed and money-happy visitors frequenting their spaces.

This is not the case at Nowhere, regardless of its location some six floors above the capital. The delicious and unique menu was an added bonus.

Travellers making their way to Bangkok looking to spend an evening wining and dining while enjoying the capital’s skyline can visit Nowhere.

It is affordable, wonderfully decorated, and a welcoming venue for friends to visit for an evening out.
