For fans who missed Gong Cha in Singapore, the bubble tea shop will be returning 1st December 12:00pm (this Friday) at Paya Lebar SingPost Centre.
Yeah! Or Yeah…?
Due to franchise issues, Gong Cha exited Singapore in May this year and all stores were converted to LiHo, leading to disappointed fans and so many media reports. There was no way to avoid scrolling my FB without seeing “LiHo” somehow in that entire week.
Actually, I am still not too sure what the whole fuss was about.

Gong Cha Singapore will return with its evergreen best-sellers, such as their Royal Milk Tea with Pearl and Cheese Foam Tea beverages.
I will be just going straight to Alishan.
It will also offer a range of brand new flavours, some of which are developed exclusively for Singapore consumers. These include Sweet Potato Milk Tea, Matcha with Red Bead and Brown Sugar Oolong.

Interesting to note that between May and now, in just a couple of months, many other similar shops such as Teafolia, ParTea, PlayMade, R&B Tea, HeeTea, Mr Tan and Hi Tea have all opened in Singapore serving fruit teas and cheese foam teas.
I guess one of the greatest beneficiary during Gong Cha’s absence is KOI, which queues only seemed to have got longer. Which brings me to the next question…
What is going to happen to LiHo?
