Featherstone Bistro Café & Lifestyle Shop – Mystical Themed Cafe In Bangkok Is Instagram Heaven

[Bangkok] Probably one of Bangkok’s most whimsical café, Featherstone Bistro Café & Lifestyle Shop is a unique establishment located at the Ekkamai area of Bangkok – the cafe hopping area.

This is Instagram heaven for many.

The entire space is divided into 2 sections. The lifestyle shop’s boutique section stocked with vintage fashion accessories, while the food area gives you a private space for your companions.

The lifestyle shop of Featherstone is known for its wide array of compelling trinkets gift items and what-have-you’s – from handmade stone jewellery to feathered earrings, from fine leather bags to artisanal French soaps.

The ambiance was quite mystical, painted in dark green. All that was missing was a magic wand.

A colourful stained-glass window added a beautiful focal interest to the space, letting in light to the Featherstone ambiance.

When I entered, I noticed tables and tables of females taking selfies and food pics (There were a few guys – they looked like the instagram boyfriend/husband).

Is taste secondary, while looks are of most priority here?

Thankfully, the food and drinks were decent.

The charmingly decadent café bistro serves up single origin coffees, teas, sodas as well as Western comfort food from salads, sandwiches, pasta, Italian pizza, steaks, and homemade bakery items.

Featherstone’s fine coffee beans have unique flavor character. Their collection comes from single origin farms and cooperatives of distinguished coffee growers around the world, with beans from Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil and Tanzania.

The Ceresia Single Origin Drip Coffee was priced at 120 baht (SGD$4.94) while customized blends for espresso start at 90 baht (SGD$3.71).

If you prefer cold coffee, their Cold Brew Ice Cube Latte (150 baht, SGD$6.18) should delight you.

It is a deconstructed drink that comes with frozen espresso cubes accompanied with a bottle of chilled milk, sweetened with either liquid brown sugar or simple syrup.

The other very-instagrammable drink is the classic soda called Sparkling Apothecary, which comes in 4 creative flavours: Garden (Lavender), Mermaid (Orange), Peach Pie Moonshine (Peach), and Purple Lullaby (Grape and Cherry).

I had a Purple Lullaby (140 baht, SGD$5.76) – a tall glass filled with flavoured fruit-infused ice cubes, along with separate bottles of sparkling soda water and lavender syrup.

Pour the soda water first, then add the syrup. The violet-hued drink was refreshing, bright, with a slight floral hint.

For food, The Down to Earth Salad (220 baht, SGD$9.06) combined greens, cherry tomatoes, black olives, Sunkist orange, radish and feta cheese.

I initially didn’t order the Woodland Salad (290 baht, SGD$12.00), till I saw every other table having it (the girls who earlier took many selfies).

This is one salad which looked like a garden. If salads looked as pretty as this, then I think more people won’t mind ordering their greens.

Added with balsamic dressing and feta cheese, it fared averagely in the taste aspect.

The Caramelised Onion Soup (250 baht, $10.30), Chicken Skin with Mashed Potato (160 baht, SGD$6.59) and Duck Confit with Raspberry Sauce (380 baht, SGD$15.65) are some of their most popular dishes ever.

If you love pizza, the Egg Bacon & Cheese Pizza (240 baht, SGD$9.88) made with homemade crust, and the Miele Pizza (260THB, SGD$10.71), a sweet-savoury combination with Granny Smith apple, honey, almonds, brie and mozzarella cheese are the recommended oes.

For a decadent dessert, Featherstone offers Tiramisu (180 baht, SGD$7.41), and Fresh & Fluffy Coconut Cream Pie (80 THB, SGD$3.29) made from fresh coconut with light and fluffy cream.
