[Jakarta] Do you consider yourself as an early bird or a night owl?
Whatever your choice is, there is one coffee shop in Jakarta where both early birds and night owls gather.
Lucky Cat Coffee & Kitchen, opened 24/7, is considered one of the city’s hippest and most instagrammable café.
Situated at the rear end of Pasar Festival complex (South Jakarta) lies, Lucky Cat Coffee & Kitchen has a striking white brick façade.
It is built to resemble a house, and one couldn’t simply ignore this presentable two-story establishment.
In fact, it is considered one of the ‘hotspot’ in the city to take #OOTD photos.
The most popular photography spot is the old tree near the staircase.
Step inside and you will be greeted with greeneries, hanging plants are scattered throughout. With a glass see-through roof, Lucky Cat is basked in bright natural glow throughout the day.
On top of that, Lucky Cat uses many wooden elements making the ambience warm and homey.
This is a 24/7 establishment, which means you could have your coffee and all-day breakfast fare any time or day you like.
To make things easier for coffee newbies, the café has categorized the coffee beans into “Bold” (chocolatey/nutty) and “Bright” (floral/citrusy) taste.
Even if you are not a coffee person, they do offer various drink such as fruits juices, milkshakes and flavored teas.
Offering about six to eight dishes ranging from Asian to Western cuisines, the variety of food is not fantastic, though the selections are designed to complement the coffee.
The Nachos (IDR 45k, SGD$4.50) is considered an all-time favourite appetizer.
Portion wise, I think it can be even be taken as a main course.
The Strawberry Juice (IDR 40k, SGD $4.00) can be the perfect drink to refresh oneself on a hot day, tasting fresh with a tinge of sourness.
As for the Strawberry Cheesecake (IDR 39k, SGD$3.90), it is a pity that taste did not match its look.
It was geared towards the milky rather than cheesy side, thus softer and moister than the typically thick and dense cheesecake.
Despite being called Seafood Spaghetti (IDR 69k, SGD$6.90), it was lacking in seafood – just a few slices of squid and a couple of prawns.
Lucky Cat Coffee & Kitchen is one cozy and gorgeous place.
People are also really here because it is opened 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you really need that Cappuccino (IDR 40k, SGD$4.00) after midnight, here’s where you can head over.
