Perhaps this is the month of 2nd branches.
Many cafes in Singapore, which have been ‘dormant’ for a while have coincidentally opened their second outlet, such as Alchemist,
Two Men Bagel House, and DC Super Heroes Café.

NEW Outlet At Takashimaya For Super Heroes Treats
Character Cafes are gaining popularity in Singapore, and one of the first is DC Super Heroes Cafe which first made its appearance at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, complete with retail and F&B space.
Fast forward to 2018, the DC Super Heroes Cafe team decided to create another universe right in the heart of Orchard, at Takashimaya level 2.
The kitchen is helmed by Celebrity Chef Martin Woo, a well-known and award-winning veteran in the F&B industry, and the cafe showcases a total of more than 150 items of food, drinks and desserts.
The Batman’s Dark Knight Wagyu Beef Burger ($28.90) is a best-selling specialty, therefore takes on the characteristics with the use of black charcoal buns and is a sizable, hearty portion. DC Super Heroes Café (Takashimaya)

Melbourne Inspired Cafe At Tanjong Pagar
Melbourne-inspired brunch fare, white and spacious interior, glass rooftop with natural sunlight, are some of the promising pull factors for Bearded Bella – a new brunch and coffee place at Craig Road.
Plus, one of the owners is a Singapore National Barista Championship winner in 2016.
It is a 40 seaters cafe complete with greenery, wood and industrial-like brass elements in its interior design.
A selection of healthy-looking breakfast items such as Toast, Chia Pudding, Smashed Avocado and brunch food such as Dill Cured Salmon, the Bearded Egg and Pulled Brisket Sliders are available. Bearded Bella (Craig Road)

“Hei Kim” means “black gold” in Chinese dialect, and represents the value of coffee.
This is a cozy lifestyle café, with shelves selling knick knacks produced by many local designers, fro bags, accessories, handphone covers to inspirational cards.
Still in the soft launch phase, you can expect coffee and tea by pot.
Other brunch items such as Scrambled Eggs & Toast, Smashed Eggs and cakes will be introduced in time to come.
Little Farms Café
Valley Point, 491 River Valley Road, #01-20, Singapore 248371
Opening Hours: 7:30am – 9:30pm Daily
All Day Breakfast And Brunch Made With Fresh Produce
Little Farms has gained a little reputation since opening in 2016. It is known to offer fresh produce, meats, seafood, dairy, and groceries, source directly from suppliers in Australia and Europe.
Therefore, the all-day breakfast and brunch menu served from 7:30am to 5:00pm, is expectedly more costly than the average café.
Offerings include Toast & Butter ($8), Granola & Fresh Fruit ($12), Smashed Avocado ($15), Nutty Banana Toast ($7), Buttermilk Pancakes ($17), Pasta of the Day ($18) and Fish of The Day ($22).
This looks set to be an expat-favourite. Little Farms Café (Valley Point)
Our Second Home
43 Jln Merah Saga, #01-66, Singapore 278115
Opening Hours: 10am – 9pm (Mon-Sun)
Simple Yet Elegant Boutique With A Cafe, At Holland Village
Our Second Home is a cafe concept in partnership with Our Second Nature, a clothing brand that focuses on every day, comfortable wear for the ladies.
Located near Chip Bee Gardens where the popular Sunday Folks is located, Our Second Home is a one-stop cafe stop within a boutique.
With only 3 tables in the spacious compound, their soft-launched menu features a small selection of coffee and bakes.
I had the Butter Cake with Lemon Glaze, which was soft, moist and buttery with a tinge of citrusy notes from the lemon glaze, that balanced out the sweetness. Our Second Home (Holland Village)

Wakey Wakey has no meaning to it and sounds like asking someone to “Wake up”.

Prodigal Roasters Opens A 2nd Outlet With Expanded Food Menu
Prodigal Cafe is no stranger to frequent patrons of their sister outlet Prodigal Roasters located at Ang Mo Kio.
Good news, they now serve ‘proper’ food at their outlet near Tai Seng. This is especially when their first outlet is faced with space limitations and narrow seating spaces.
With 2 coffee beans roasted in-house available at any one time, Prodigal Cafe changes their selection of coffee beans on a monthly basis, and is continuously sourcing for new beans from all over the world.
With table and chairs available, they are now able to offer an expanded menu that includes hot food such as Grilled Salmon ($17), Chicken Stroganoff ($15) and Grilled Cheese ($10). Prodigal Café (Tai Seng)

Bagel Specialty Store At Novena, With Sticky BBQ Ribs Bagel
Two Men Bagel House at Icon Village, Tanjong Pagar has opened its 2nd branch at Novena Royal Square.
The range of bagel selection at Novena slightly differs from Tanjong Pagar, placing more emphasis on hearty meat-based bagels.
One can first choose from the choice of plain, salt, seeded or multi grain bagel as the base.
I went with the Smoked Haddock ($13) mixed with their house-concocted “special sauce” that bears resemblance to vinaigrette due to its tangy flavour.
A balanced bagel which tasted somewhat like tuna mayo sandwich. But the fish came with a more defined bite texture, adds the smoky aroma which cuts through the overall flavour nicely. Two Men Bagel House 2.0 (Novena)
Alchemist
Hong Leong Building, 16 Raffles Quay #01-08 Singapore 04858
Opening Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (Mon – Fri), Closed Sat, Sun
NEW Outlet Hidden Inside Hong Leong Building
Many coffee drinkers working in the CBD have given Alchemist at International Plaza a thumbs up for their quality coffee and beans.
This is its 2nd outlet.
Prices range from $3.00 from an espresso, $4.50 for a white or black, to $5.50 for an Ice White.
Two blends were available when I visited – Dark Matter which was bold and nutty, or Las Nubes with plum and chocolate notes.
There are many things I liked about this coffee. It was strong and robust, and also smooth and balanced. Alchemist (Hong Leong Building)
A DreamWorks KouKou Café will be opening soon at Bugis Plus, anticipated to be early March.
It is named after the Chinese word “口”, and will feature bite-sized incarnations of the well-loved characters from iconic DreamWorks animated movies – Kungfu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon and Trolls.
Started by the same folks behind Gudetama Café Singapore, the one-year pop-up café would be the first KouKou’s themed café in the world.
