Popular Guangzhou Rice Roll and Congee Shop Opens In Singapore
A relatively famous congee and rice roll shop has opened in Singapore. Yin Ji 银记肠粉店 which originated in Guangzhou in the 50s, has set up its Singapore flagship at Far East Square.

It is one of the largest chain stores you can find in Guangzhou, and you can also find branches in Canada.

Congee choices include the ‘all-in-one’ Boat ($6.50), Sliced Fish ($7.00), Sliced Pork ($6.00), Sliced Pork and Liver ($7.00), Sliced Tender Bee ($7.00) , Century Egg & Pork ($6.50) and Vegan ($4.00).

The texture of the Congee was very close to what I would find in a reasonably good Cantonese restaurant in Singapore – slightly sticky, with rice broken into smooth consistency. Yin Ji 银记肠粉店 (Far East Square)

Deaf Inclusive Vietnamese Eatery At Orchard Road
This Vietnamese Pho shop is set up by a deaf couple, Anthony and Angela. Despite the challenges, the risks of opening an F&B in the heart of town, the couple decided to go ahead to follow their passion – which is to cook for people.

Prices for the food items are inexpensive, with offerings of Sliced Beef Ribeye Pho ($6.00), Hanoi Chicken Pho ($5.00), and Fresh Rolls with Prawns, Pork and Egg Fresh Rolls ($5.00) and Beef Noodle Salad ($6.00).

And the Beef Feast Combo ($8.00) I ordered was comforting and hearty. The soup was light yet flavoursome, without any added MSG. Signs A Taste Of Vietnam Pho (Midpoint Orchard)
