[Beijing] Wudaoying Hutong is where the trendy Chinese café hoppers hang out during the weekends, with the narrow stretch of road peppered with coffee shops, bistros, art studios, and indie fashion stores.
Located 500 m west of Yonghegong station (Lines 2 and 5), the alley is near the Gulou hutongs, Lama Temple, Confucius Temple and Drum and Bell Tower.

This cafe may be tiny with a seating capacity of 4 to 5 people, but has that chic café vibe – exposed brick walls, industrial lighting, and friendly baristas.
Other than the usual coffee choices of Café Latte, Cappuccino, Dirty, Mocha and Piccolo, the popular order would be the Soda Ice Americano, especially during summer time.

Price of coffee is between ¥25 to ¥40 (SGD5.22, SGD8.35), actually probably one of the most moderately priced ones that I found here. Somehow, 3rd wave coffee is rather pricey in Beijing.

I found the Café Latte to be one of the most pleasing cups I had in Beijing – robust, balanced, smooth and not overly acidic.
It is known for a great spot for working – spotted a customer drawing here, another reading a book, though there is not much space for a group.

You may also like its Raspberry Tart, strong Wi-Fi and its low-key atmosphere. Of course, coffee on the side is a must.
