[Seoul] The very new Pter Coffee, pronounced ”pi-taw” in Korean or “Peter” in English, should gradually become a hot place on Instagram.
So I went on a weekday morning to avoid the weekend crowd. Yes, there were already people there when I arrived shortly after they opened.

Within a short 2-3 mins walk away from Sindang subway station, this café is not that hard to locate.
Just look out for the distinctive ecru vintage car in front of the modern-looking building which is a stark contrast from the older, neighbouring ones.

If the cafe is not too crowded, take some time to tour the well-designed 3 storey café.
The first floor, where you order, has on display the freshly-baked pastries available for the day in baskets, tea wares and some books and magazines for your perusal.
After ordering, you may go up to the second floor for individual table seating or the third floor for the communal table.

When I went in winter, the rooftop (up another flight of stairs) was closed. I believe it will be a good spot to enjoy some breeze during the warmer seasons.

Even though they named themselves as a coffee house, I realised that the teas here are a lot more popular among the patrons. It is not hard to see why.

I ordered the caffeine-free Sangria Tea (7000 won, SGD8.40) and it came plated nicely on a tray along with some decorative items.
The price may be on the higher side for a pot of gryphon tea, but the presentation made up for it.

The other pastries (including pain au chocolats and other types of croissants) were still not ready when I was there, so I got just the Almond Croissant (4500 won, SGD5.40).
Decent enough, it remained crisp after photo-taking.
Due to the almond filling, it was also on the sweeter side.

Apart from a good catch up with a friend, the space is also conducive for alone time with a book, or simply appreciating the food and space.
What I really liked was the largely modern design with hints of Korean tradition.
Don’t forget to snap a photo of the iconic round windows.
