10 NEW Cafes In Singapore June 2019 – Milksha (Milkshop), Gram Pancakes, Xing Fu Tang And Snoopy Café

The bubble tea trend in Singapore is not over, with two more big brands arriving.

Milksha, also known as “Milkshop” 迷客夏 in Taiwan; and Xing Fu Tang 幸福堂 famous for its brown sugar milk tea are both opening in June.

Another high profile name to look forward to is Gram Cafe & Pancakes which will be setting foot in Vivocity, and you can expect loads of wobbly pancake photos and videos floating on social media in time soon.

On the local front, look out for Coney Donut opened at Tripleone Somerset, serving some unique softserve and even bubble tea custard cream in cones made of DONUTS. #supportlocal

European Dining, Brunch And Prettiest Desserts At JEWEL Changi Airport
From the same group that created premium Korean bakery brand Paris Baguette comes a new concept, Maison de PB at Jewel Changi Airport.

This “House of PB” is an enhanced and more upscale version of the Paris Baguette.

This is a double-storey space at Jewel Changi Airport.

On the lower level is a more casual bakery-café concept, where you can get your selection of salads, soups, savoury, and mains, pasta, and European-style breads and pastries. There is also a live grill station for orders of steak.

The upper level is done up contemporary restaurant-style, where you can order mains of Oven-Baked Chicken, Roasted Black Cod, Grilled Lamb Racks, and pastas such as Signature Seafood Pastaa and Royal Carbonara. Dishes change seasonally. Maison de PB (Jewel Changi Airport)

Famous Brown Sugar Bubble Milk, Aurora Drinks And Cruffins
The Alley’s flagship store in Singapore has opened at Orchard Cineleisure Level 2.

This is first-ever premium concept aptly called “The Alley Luxe”, a lifestyle café that showcases their finest collection of beverages and bakes.

Expect classic European baked products, such as Croissants ($3.50, $5.00 for Almond Croissant, $5.80 for Sausage and Cheese), Cruffins – a croissant-muffin hybrid ($5) and Kouign-Amann ($4.50).

The Cruffins ($5) come recommended due to the crisp layers of flaky pastry and lightly sweetened fillings, in flavours of the local kaya, salted caramel, lemon curd and chocolate. The Alley Luxe (Cineleisure)

Famous Japanese Pancakes Cafe Opening At VivoCity
The most famous fluffy pancakes from Osaka Japan – Gram Café & Pancakes will arriving to Singapore.

The confirmed location will be at Level 2 of VivoCity (beside Secret Recipe at Lobby E), and the pancake café is set to open on the 14th of June.

Gram is famous for its 3-stacked “Premium Pancakes”, each 4 cm thick, served with syrup, butter and whipped cream.

They are slow-cooked on low heat and whipped full of air, resulting in a fluffy texture which people say it is like cloud or cotton candy.

Hidden Brunch Cafe With “Cheeky Burger” Found At Neil Road
The Botanist at 74 Neil Road has said its silent “Goodbye”, and has rebranded into a new café called Cheeky.

Cheeky purports to serve up hearty meals made with good ingredients, and signature items include Cheeky Burger ($16), Salmon Pasta ($14), Sambal Crab Scramble ($10), Avo Smoothie Bowl ($8), Smashing Avo ($14), and Coffee Lemon ($6).

The recommended is the Cheeky Burger ($16) which contained beef patties with pickled cabbage slaw, added with their house special sauce, with a side of curly fries. Cheeky (Neil Road)

Soft Serve DONUT Cone And Brown Sugar Boba Custard Cone
Even if you are a donut fan, you would not have come across this before. These unconventional doughnuts are a cross between an ice cream cone and a doughnut.

A new player in the dessert and café category, Coney Donut recently opened at the revamped TripleOne Somerset Mall, located across 313 Somerset.

Each doughnut cone holds a different filling, and you can choose from their selections of both sweet and savoury items.

On the sweet side of the spectrum, you have home-made soft-serve ice cream with unique, seasonal flavours and assorted toppings. For the savoury side, you get options such as scrambled eggs and bacon, and tuna mayo. Coney Donut (Tripleone Somerset)

The Kins’ Specialty Coffee

Unique Burnt Cheesecake Found At White Minimalist Café
The Kins’ Specialty Coffee has opened at Bijou Condo, which is located directly next to Pasir Panjang MRT.

While the address is directed to a private condominium, the café is located at its public space, so you don’t have to get past any security gantries.

The highlight of the meal was definitely their Kins’ Burnt Cheesecake ($7.50), served with a dollop of sweetened whipping cream on its side.

This Basque Burnt Cheesecake may look like a failed product from the kitchen, with a burnt and rough top layer, an under-cooked oozy layer in the middle mixed a fluffy layer of cheesecake at the bottom. The Kins’ Specialty Coffee (Pasir Panjang)

Instagrammable Paddle Pop Cheesecake And “Ming Jian Kueh” Crepe
Two Bakers is located right opposite Paya Lebar Methodist Church and diagonally across Amber Ember.

Popular items there include the “Bao Zi” ($8.50) shaped like a white bun and made from chrysanthemum white chocolate, yuzu, lemon and matcha; and the Raspberry Litchi Ripple ($8.50) made from litchi aka lychee mousse, raspberry and vanilla.

The “Ming Jian Kueh” ($8) was a twist from our local traditional “Min Jiang Kueh” also known as a “Singaporean pancake”, commonly found in our local hawker scenes.

Made into a 8-layered crepe with salted caramel Chantilly, peanut butter and roasted peanuts, the entire combination was rich and flavourful. Two Bakers (Serangoon)

Carnival Themed Ice Cream Cafe Moves To Ang Mo Kio
Sir Stamford Waffles (a play on Sir Stamford Raffles) has reopened at Ang Mo Kio Central, after it announced its closure at Bedok 85 last year.

Signature items include their Whoaffle ($5.50) intentionally spelt this way to indicate a different rendition of their waffles.

Shaped like a snowflake instead of a square with multiple edges and denser In texture, the Whoaffle would come drizzled with a complimentary sauce of your choice which included Gula Melaka, Salted Caramel, Chocolate or Espresso ButterScotch.

Apart from ice cream and Whoaffles, mini cakes such as Mini Mermaid ($10.90), Mini Unicorn ($10.90), Mini After Eight ($8.90), Mini Strawberry Marshmallow ($8.90) and Mini Salted Caramel ($8.90) are available for desserts. Sir Stamford Waffles (Ang Mo Kio)

Taiwan’s Leading Bubble Tea Brand Opening In Singapore
The bubble tea openings in Singapore are not over yet. Milksha 迷客夏, Taiwan’s leading bubble tea that is voted No. 1 by Taiwan university students, is set to launch in Singapore at Suntec City (Its 2nd outlet is stated to be at Funan Centre.)

This is also Milksha’s first outlet in Southeast Asia.

Milksha is known to use 100% natural fresh milk (no creamer) as well as other natural ingredients such as sugar from sugar cane for their products. No preservatives, chemical ingredients or artificial colourings.

Its pearls are also quite unique, featuring honey pearls freshly cooked, frozen, then air-flown to Singapore. (Effort)

In Singapore, the brand will launch four series: Fresh Milk Series, Fresh Milk Tea Latte Series, Premium Tea Series and Special Concoctions. Xing Fu Tang’s first Singapore perm outlet is stated to open at Century Square at the end of June.

For those who are more eager to try it out soon, it will be available at a pop-up at Takashimaya basement from 30th May to 16th June.

They are best known for its “stir-fried” Brown Sugar Boba Milk, with the pearls done the “traditional way”.

What is special is that the boba pearls are steeped in brown sugar, “stir-fried” in front of you, and scooped quickly into the cup.

The signature Brown Sugar Boba Milk is stated to be sold in Singapore at $5.30.

Other Xing Fu Tang signature drinks include Strawberry Boba Milk, Matcha Boba Milk, Grapefruit Green Tea, Brown Sugar Boba Black Tea Latte, Mango Smoothie and “Rabbit” Jelly, and Lemon Black Tea. Xing Fu Tang Singapore 幸福堂

World’s Most famous Beagle Landing In Kumoya
From Thursday, 13 June 2019 till September 2019, the first-of-its-kind “Snoopy-centric pop-up café” will happen in Singapore and South East Asia (Even though there already is a Charlie Brown Cafe at Orchard Cineleisure.)

Snoopy, along with his best pal Woodstock and Charlie Brown and gang, are created by Charles M. Schulz.

Have fun dining on a comprehensive Snoopy-inspired menu designed by Kumoya kitchen team and Shirley Wong (@littlemissbento).

Some of the recommended dishes include Snoopy Sleep Tight Mushroom Sauce Rice with Roasted Chicken ($27.90), Snoopy Sizzling Seafood Tempura with Japanese Curry Rice ($24.90), and Snoopy’s Doghouse Fantasy Ebi Burger ($23.90).
