Dukes Coffee Roasters at Flinders Lane remains as one of my favourite places in Melbourne – the city of coffee.
It was a conversation with the barista (in the Sydney branch) who thought I was Korean, that led me to learn that Dukes has opened a branch in Seoul itself.
Of course I needed to put this somewhere in my South Korea itinerary.

Seoul is pretty much peppered with coffee chains of all kinds, and it is not difficult to find a Paris Baguette, A Twosome Place and Ediya Coffee somewhere around.
However, Australian style cafes are still considered a dim in the dozen.

Dukes Coffee Showroom is located at Mapo-gu, a moderate walking distance from the Hongdae universary area.
The café is not that easy to find, hidden in one of the back alleys and you may just walk past it without realising. Look out for the sign with a paper cup at the stairs leading to the entrance.
