Singaporeans can really head to anywhere for food.
This non-descript curry puff stall at the basement of Golden Mile Tower has been secretly attracting the office crowd nearby for a bite of this popular local snack.
There is nothing really glam about the building, but diners can be spotted here at the basement having Siam Square Mookata, King Of Fried Rice, Thien Kee Steamboat, and Leng Saap pork ribs.

And gosh, Er Jie Curry Puff is only available from 3:30pm on Mondays to Fridays for a couple of hours, till sold out.
As she makes only a limited quantity by hand and deep-fried using two small fryers, I would recommend coming earlier if you really want to try.

The stall started out selling desserts, then chap chye peng, and the occasional curry chicken and laksa.
Curry Puffs were made during teatime, but they ended up being the draw.

Priced at $1.60 each, a puff is not considered huge and rather on the small side, but is packed with ingredients.

The outer layer was beautifully golden-yellow and crispy, yet not too oily.

After taking a bite, I loved that steaming hot fillings with soft potatoes and chunks of chicken.
You would notice that the chicken pieces is not marinated in curry, so as to retain its taste and that every piece would have a fixed amount of meat within.

Additional tip: the stall shares space with a coffee shop called Wildly Addict” serving local style coffee.
But wait, you would find interesting drinks such as Pandan Coffee, Cinnamon Coffee and Iced Coffee with palm sugar.
The Kopi starts affordably from $1.10 to $2.50 for a more fanciful iced version.

While the Iced Coffee with creamer that I had was no “Dalgona Coffee”, it was Korean-inspired, taught by the “oppa” from the next door shop.
What you would get is frothy cream on top of kopi with milk. Boss says she is experimenting with Dalgona, and who knows Curry Puff with Dalgona will be a reality soon.
