[Circuit Breaker Special] With the extended Circuit Breaker , there are many Singaporeans who are understandably upset that their favourite Bubble Tea shops will be temporary closed for the period.
Firstly, I don’t agree with the mad rush for the “one last cup”, because there are risks involved and such clustering is also one of the reasons why the CB was extended in the first place.
But let’s also leave those BBT & fans shaming aside, as this can be a difficult period for many – especially business owners and workers who find themselves caught in a very challenging situation (for example, dealing with fresh supplies they just ordered is just one of the many problems they face).
If you really need your bubble tea fix, there are stalls within hawker centres, food court, and Taiwanese-style eateries that still continue to serve them.
And there are also bubble tea bottled drinks available at the supermarkets and 7 Eleven. Not quite the same, but let’s not complain.
On another note, dessert and bubble Tea hawker stall Dot Sugar at Maxwell Food Centre is offering islandwide delivery with no min order.
Otherwise, it is also available via GrabFood, Deliveroo, foodpanda.
The base rate for delivery is $10 (if order more than $15), or $12.50 (if order less than $15).
There is an add-on fee for further places, ranging from $1.25 to $6.25 more.
Delivery:
– Order 1 to 2 hours in advance or as early as possible.
– Payment via PayLah / PayNow

Dot Sugar 有点糖 offers Hong Kong style desserts such as Mango Pomelo Sago ($3.50), Double Boiled Milk ($3.50), Double Boiled Milk with Pearls ($3.20), Peach Resin Soup ($3.20), Sesame ($2.40), Peanut ($2.50) and Almond Paste ($2.80).
These recipes are passed down to the owners from two generations up.
They also offer a wide selection of refreshing drinks such as Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with Pearl ($2.90, $3.50), Honey Longan Green Tea ($2.10, $2.70), Dot Sugar Fruit Tea ($2.50, $3.10), Earl Grey Milk Tea with Pearl ($2.60, $3.20), Black Sesame Fresh Milk ($3.30, $3.90), Yam Fresh Milk ($3.50, $4.10), Roasted Milk Tea with Peal ($3.30, $3.90), and Pei Pa Koa Milk or Black Tea ($3.60, $4.20).
I also saw Fresh Sugarcane Juice ($1.50), Sugarcane Green Tea ($2.00) and Sugarcane Yakult ($2.30) on its menu.
Personally, I thought that the desserts are the stronger area, and Brown Sugar Bubble Milk lacked that richness and oomph as some of the familiar brands.
But their price point is friendly, and is reasonably popular with the office crowd in the vicinity.
Be patient when it comes to ordering and delivery because the demand of bubble tea is still high, and now falls in the hands of a couple of stalls.
