(Do check with individual restaurants as there may be varied opening hours during festive periods. Reservations, if applicable, is also recommended.)

Soup Restaurant
Suntec City West Wing #B1-127
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 2:30pm, 5:30pm – 10:00pm (Mon – Fri), 11:30am – 10:00pm (Sat – Sun)

Soup Restaurant is known for its series of home-style Cantonese dishes and herbal soups created from family recipes.

One of their most iconic heritage dish is the Samsui Ginger Chicken (from $24.90), a platter of chicken steamed with minimal seasoning dipped in a ginger and sesame oil sauce.

You can wrap the chicken in lettuce with sliced cucumbers for added freshness and crunch. It is also believed ginger and sesame oil have health benefits by removing excess “wind” from the body.

The restaurant’s CNY special of Golden Pumpkin Treasure Pot with Abalone, a Pumpkin Collagen Pen Cai ($298.00++, good for 5 pax) is a first in the market.

It highlights a medley of luxurious ingredients glazed over with a golden yellow pumpkin collagen gravy. Cabbage is cooked till soft and infused with gravy to make it even richer.

This premium dish includes delicacies such as 10-head abalone, sea cucumber and fish maw, plus fresh tiger prawns and scallops, shitake mushrooms, roasted pork and more.

SHI MIAO DAO Yunnan Rice Noodle
Suntec City West Wing #B1-126A
Opening Hours: 11:00am – 10:00pm (Mon – Sun)

If you want the most authentic Yunnan rice noodles, head to Shi Miao Dao at Basement 1 to enjoy these legit noodles.

Prepared from fine fresh ingredients, the noodles (which may remind some of thick vermicelli) have a smooth taste and tender chewy bite.

Try the Shi Miao Dao Famous Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle Soup ($9.90), a dish with an interesting backstory. It is both nutritious and delicious. The Yunnan rice noodles is cooked with meat, veggies and other ingredients served in a tasty broth.

This savoury soup is made from fresh pig bones, fresh chicken and Yunnan Xuanwei ham. Boiling them for long hours draw out their deep flavours, coming together as one savoury soup.

The same Yunnan rice noodles lend its presence to the equally comforting Chicken Soup Rice Noodle ($15.90).

This piping hot bowl includes chunks of chicken, corn and veggies in a clear collagen-rich chicken broth.

White Restaurant
Suntec City Fountain Court #B1-131
Opening Hours: 11:00am – 9:30pm (Mon – Sun)

White Restaurant is best known for pioneering the uniquely Singaporean dish – the Original White Beehoon. Did you know this dish was originally prepared as a homely dish by founder Mr Tay King Huak?

The Original White Beehoon ($7.00 for small) is cooked with rice vermicelli in a rich chicken broth topped with prawns, squid, egg and veggies.

Squeeze some fresh lime juice over it and add a dollop of sambal chili to intensify the flavours.

Other White Restaurant bestsellers include Signature Meat & Seafood Roll ($13.80), Signature Fried Wings ($10.80 for small) and chef-recommended dishes Salted Egg Sotong ($15.80) and Sambal Sweet Potato Leaves ($11.80).

White Restaurant’s Chinese New Year Set Menu is available from 29 Jan to 26 Feb 2021. The Prosperity Set for 8 pax includes the Conpoy and Curry Prawn Yam Ring ($29.80).

Ring in CNY with this bountiful dish-in-a-basket which includes colourful mishmash of red and green capsicums, dried scallops and sumptuous stir-fried curry tiger prawns. The basket itself is made of yam, deep-fried to golden perfection.

Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken
Suntec City Fountain Court #B1-108A
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 8:45pm (Mon – Sun)

Ho Fook Hei is a casual quick-service restaurant specialising in soy sauce chicken and other home-style Cantonese dishes.

The Cantonese believes a meal is not complete without chicken, a symbol of prosperity and good fortune (“ho fook hei” is Cantonese for good fortune).

Its signature Specialty Rose Wine Soy Sauce Chicken ($19.00 half / $35.00 whole for dine-in and takeaway) follows a time-honoured recipe.

First, the chicken is brined overnight then poached in a braising liquid of superior soy sauce and a secret mix of Chinese herbs and spices. This traditional Cantonese way of cooking makes the chicken extra flavourful, as the liquid permeates down to the bone and the meat exudes a hint of rose wine fragrance.

The Signature Soy Sauce Chicken Noodles ($8.90) is another specialty of the house, featuring custom-made Hong Kong-style egg noodles. Made exclusively for Ho Fook Hei by a local noodle maker, these springy al dente noodles are tossed in a braising liquid to soak in the flavour. This one-dish meal is served topped with soy sauce chicken and blanched veggies.

Add an order of CNY seasonal special of He Ye Fan or Steamed Glutinous Rice with Pearl Abalone and Chinese Sausage.

Steamed and served in a lotus leaf for added flavour and presentation. For an extra crunch and heat, eat it with their homemade Crunchy Chilli Sauce.

COCA
Suntec City North Wing #02-440
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 3:00pm, 6:00pm – 10:30pm (Mon – Fri), 11:15am – 10:30pm (Sat – Sun)

The concept of COCA Restaurant marries authentic Thai cuisine with traditional elements of Cantonese home-style cooking, creating distinctive flavours for decades.

For its hotpot, there are many enticing broths to look forward to, from Double Boiled Treasure, Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Collagen, Merciless Mala, Healthy Fresh Tomato to Over-the-top Coriander Pot – the first of its kind in Singapore.

Get the Hua Diao Phoenix pot. This broth is concocted with Hua Diao – a Chinese rice wine and other herbs with condiments to further enhance the aroma and taste of Double Boiled Treasure.

P.S. Watch out for the blazing “Phoenix” as the server lights up the bowl of tender chicken with fire, before adding the mix into the broth. As this broth is relatively stronger and more intense tasting, it complements well with non-marinated meats and items such as Chicken Fillet, “Fish Glue”, Meat Paste and Vegetables.

Newly introduced is the “Crabmeat & Tobiko Extravaganza”, with special items only available during weekdays, Mon to Fri (except PH), experience stir-fried mains topped with generous crabmeat chunks and flying fish roe.

Choose from Mala Fried Rice (my recommendation), Pad Woon Sen, Garlic Fried Rice, Thai Drunken Noodles, Tom Yum Fried Rice and Pineapple Fried Rice, all complete with wok hei.

Tim Ho Wan
Suntec City West Wing #02-389
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 3pm, 5pm – 9pm (Mon – Fri), 11am – 9:30pm (Sat – Sun, PH), Last Order 30 min before closing

Recognised as the most affordable Michelin-starred resto in the world, Tim Ho Wan is a popular mecca for authentic yet affordable Hong Kong style dim sum.

Baked BBQ Pork Buns ($6.80) is the definitive must-try item in the THW menu, tagged by many as the “Best BBQ Pork Bun”.

A crumbly yet fluffy crust encapsulating a salty-sweet saucy mixture of diced barbecued pork and a special THW sauce. Like its counterpart in Tim Ho Wan Hong Kong, the BBQ pork bun is prepared and baked the old-fashioned way.

Pair your pork bun with a Maine Lobster & Scallop Fried Radish Cake ($14.50), an item from the special menu during this festive period.

A jumble of premium-grade scallops, juicy Maine lobster meat, fresh sweet radish, bean sprouts and green onion, all tossed to tantalising wok hei. The added heat makes this dish a sure head turner for spicy food lovers.

Penang Place
Suntec City West Wing #02-314
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 2:30pm, 6:00pm – 9:00pm [Ala Carte & Buffet] (Mon – Sat)
11:30am – 2:30pm [Buffet], 11:30am – 4:00pm [Ala Carte], 6:00pm – 9:00pm [Ala Carte & Buffet] (Sun)

Buffet goers love Penang Place for its affordable spread of quality Penang hawker favourites. Enjoy a buffet for only $32.90++/adult and let food take you on a journey to the rustic streets of Penang, Malaysia.

Savour over 30 specialties as they skip open buffet and go Ala Carte style, serving food fresh out of the kitchen. Yes, it still is an eat-all-you-can buffet.

Penang Place’s bestsellers include the celebrated Penang Char Kway Teow, Penang Assam Laksa, Penang Hokkien Mee, Lobak, Salted Egg Fried Chicken, Chicken Satay and Beef Rendang.

Don’t miss the Penang Char Kway Teow ($10.90 Ala Carte or eat-all-you-can for the buffet price), praised by some as the best Penang CKT in town.

Each portion is fried not as a batch but individually to preserve its signature smokiness. Features flat rice noodles wok-fried with fresh seafood, vegetables and eggs and dons a strong wok-hei taste. Opt to add in chillies for a spicy kick.

The Penang Assam Laksa ($10.90 Ala Carte or eat-all-you-can for buffet price) is another popular item for its addictively good spicy-sour fish broth and rice noodles. Adorned with flaked mackerel, herbs (mint, lemongrass), fruits (tamarind, pineapple), chili, onion and chopped rojak flower, this hawker soup is topped with hae ko (shrimp paste).

For desserts, their Chendol is made in-house daily and assorted bite-sized sweet delicacy Kueh Kuehs are likewise homemade.

From 14 Feb to 26 Feb 2021, look forward to the addition of Superior Seafood Pot as well as the Seafood Soup with Crab Meat and Sea Cucumber as part of the CNY Buffet at $38.80++ per adult.

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh
Suntec City Fountain Court #B1-132
Opening Hours: 11:00am – 9:00pm (Mon – Thurs), 11:00am – 9:30pm (Fri), 10:30am – 9:00pm (Sat – Sun)

Singaporean restaurant chain Song Fa Bak Kut Teh has been dishing up Teochew-style pork rib soup to the delight of many. It is also awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for consecutive years.

Song Fa is the place to experience tender fall-off-the-bone pork ribs in a trademark clear and peppery broth.

Enjoy this signature dish with the newly launched Claypot Spicy Double Mushrooms ($5.90), twice the umami goodness with a mix of Shimeiji and King Oyster Mushrooms.

Cooked in a claypot, which heats up slower and more evenly, the juice from the mushroom creates a self-basting steam to keep them tender and succulent.

Alternatively, try the Chicken Thigh Soup with Fried Beancurd Skin ($7.10) as a light side. The clear soup carries a mild chicken flavour and textured with fried beancurd skin.

Downstairs 楼下
Suntec City Fountain Court #B1-132
Opening Hours: 8:30am – 9:00pm (Mon – Fri), 9:00am – 9:00pm (Sat – Sun, PH)

The nostalgic-themed local eatery is one of Suntec City’s newest F&B addition, brought to you by the Song Fa Bak Kut Teh team.

Downstairs hopes to be the everyday go-to place, from breakfast to dinner when you are craving for local delights.

In terms of food choices, there are recognisable local favourites with a slight twist. Instead of the typical Nasi Lemak, you would find one with salted egg chicken; the Mi Tai Mak soup is cooked with a home-made recipe broth to bring out the fragrance and delicate flavours.

One of the popular dishes to get is the Nasi Lemak with Salted Egg Chicken ($8.90), with crispy chicken pieces coated in a house-specialty creamy salted egg sauce and curry leaves.

The sauce is not the rich and grainy type but is smooth and buttery-milky. The rice, light and fluffy, carries that distinctive fragrance from the infusion of coconut milk.

Another favourite here is the Lu Rou Fan or Mian ($6.00). Slow braised for many hours, the pork belly achieves the right tenderness that make it fork-tender.

Order this rice bowl, which also comes with generous portion of salted pickled vegetables on the side and a lava egg to mix with the rice.

Nature Café
Suntec City North Wing #B1-148
Opening Hours: 10.30am – 3:00pm, 5:00pm – 9.15pm (Mon – Fri), 10:30am – 9:15pm (Sat – Sun, PH)

Your one-stop shop for Asian vegetarian food. The vegetarian café serves up dishes such as Chicken Rice ($5.90), Curry Fish with Rice ($7.90), Cereal Butter Prawn ($13.90), Green Curry with Lion’s Mane Mushroom ($12.90), Tom Yum Spaghetti ($8.80), Fish Slice Noodle Soup ($6.50), to even Kimchi Fried Rice ($5.90) and Stone Pot Kimchi Noodle Soup ($9.90).

All meat-free of course.

The team of chefs pride themselves in not using MSG, garlic, onions and wine in the food preparation, to deliver healthier vegetarian cuisine.

For fans of Mala Xiang Guo or Spicy Mala Hot Pot ($15.90), Nature Café’s vegetarian version does not use any onions or garlic, instead focusing on the use of chilli, peppercorn, sesame and peanut as the stars of the dishes.

Slight warning: be ready to get your tongue numbed as the in-house made spicy mala sauce was spicier than usual. (If you love the mala sauce, it is also on sale in small bottles.)

For Korean food lovers, the Korean Style Stone Pot Monkey Head Mushroom ($8.50) is a vegetarian version of bibimbap.

Coupled with mixed brown rice, a plethora of vegetables, the kimchi included is also specially made in house (yes, the kimchi is also for sale in jars). Pour the sauce in the sizzling pot and give it a good mix with the sweetish-savoury sauce.
