Just a stone throw away from Masjid Sultan, this 2-years-old Halal establishment undergoes a complete revamp and is now known as The Return Cafe Bistro. Being a veteran player in that area, it is no stranger to the Muslim community that populates there.
Besides changing its name, additions were made to the menu and they promised a seasonal special dish that will change every 3 to 4 months. A monthly-special set meal will cost $19.90 which includes a main dish, a soup-of-the-month and a soft drink.

Being the dish-of-the-month, the Glaced Supreme Chicken ($17.90) did not seem that supreme afterall. With a slightly crispy and flavourful skin, the meat was… a tad too dry. Mashed potatoes was creamy and just right.

Looks like the Wild Mushroom Soup ($8.90) had stolen the limelight from main dish with its thick and creamy texture.

Their coffee ($4.90 for latte) was decent, but wait… what happened to the latte art?
Oh did I mention that their service was awesome? Not only did the barista explain that he tried 5 times to make that latte, he even advised me to seek permission from the cafe owner before taking photos of the food. That was showing some real concern indeed!

Pan fried Norwegian Salmon ($19.90) drizzled with mustard chive sauce was tender and juicy and the tinge of freshness was pretty distinct.

The Zesty Buffalo Wings ($12.90) with homemade thai sauce and chilli powder was sweet and tender, not the usual spicy buffalo wings elsewhere.

If The Return Cafe Bistro wants to rebrand themselves, they will probably need to solve the issues of houseflies that will photobomb while you are trying to take a picture of your food.
And don’t forget, they do charge a 10% service charge for their awesome service.
