Nookie’s tagline is “Yogurt with an attitude” and is prepared to give Spanish brand Llao Llao a run for their money. I prefer to think that they are very different.
The 100% homegrown froyo brand (support local!) is a combination of the familiar frozen yogurt with deconstructed desserts. Apple crumble, red velvet waffles, chocolate banana churros in yogurt? Yes, yes.

Ah, creativity in a cup. The current 8 flavours available include the gorgeous Red Velvet Parfait, Chocolate Caramel Fudge, Blueberry Passionfruit Cheesecake, Strawberry Watermelon Rose and Chai Orange.

Nookie’s signature flavours are at $6.90 each, while customised yogurts would cost between $3.50 to $6.30.
My first reaction to the froyo was “Wah, a lot of liao liao (ingredients)!” Pun not intended.

Closing my eyes to appreciate, it felt like eating a dessert cake with my froyo, with a lot of crunch and biteable ingredients, making this a rather value-for-money cup.
The base taste of the yogurt reminded me of a Japanese brand, in a good way.
These are some of my favourite flavours from those I tried.

Lemongrass White Chocolate
Surprise, surprise. The rather understated cup was my personal top choice. As the yogurt base was rather milky in texture and sourish-sweet in taste, the addition of mango, banana and coconut powder helped create that balance (compared to some other cups with strawberries and orange which were tangier).
The lemongrass aftertaste could be more pronounced though, but perhaps it was overshadowed by the many many ingredients.

Red Velvet Parfait
My humble prediction is, this deep red sexy-looking cup (don’t you think so) will make it as Nookie’s best seller.
Looking at the ingredients that go into it – strawberries, banana, topped with red velvet crumble and chocolate fudge sauce, would already make the heart pound slightly faster.
I liked the crunchy bits. It made eating fun.

Apple Berry Crumble
Apple pie fillings with pineapple, salted caramel sauce and mixed berry sauce. Take my money already!
While the salted caramel sauce was thick and sweet, the berries provided both colour and a contrasting taste. You must give credits to Nookie for being adventurous with their combinations, putting two things that you would not imagine together.
