Welcome to the 2nd half of 2015. Coincidence or what! Many new cafes in Singapore are found at Keong Saik, and the Bugis, Arab Street, Beach Road vicinity.
Both Stateland Coffee and Hyde & Co had recent menu revamps, and Cake Love made its move over to Bali Lane.
10 New Cafes In Singapore July 2015 – Keong Siak, Bugis Gets More Happening
Luxe Sydney
Keong Saik Road #01-04, Singapore 089109
Opening Hours: 12pm – 12am (Tues-Fri), 9am – 12am (Sat), 9am – 4pm (Sun)
Sydney’s Luxe Brand has opened a café at Keong Siak Street, and I fell in love with the interior immediately. Luxe first started as a hole-in-the-wall at Bondi, and Singapore makes its first overseas outlet. Its Head-chef Chui Lee Luk is actually Singapore-born, and this makes a home-coming of sorts. With experience at Claude’s and with Kylie Kwong, Chef Chui promises modern Australian cuisine with a Southeast Asian twist. (Read: Luxe Sydney Keong Siak Road)
The Daily Roundup
1 Keong Saik Road #01-02 The Working Capitol Singapore 089109
Formerly tentatively known as The Working Capitol Café, this space has a fixed name and identity finally – a modern crêperie. The cafe with rather Aussie-vibes serve sweet crepes and savoury galettes (round flat crusty cakes). Popular spot with office executives for meet-ups.

Fancy a cup of tea and some scones, my dear? How about some homemade cakes with desiccated coconut? Oh, I see, a British inspired café. How nice. Menu includes Norwegian Salmon with Pesto Sauce ($25.90) and Beef Burger with Mushroom ($15.90).

If you cannot find the shop, it’s opposite Pizza Hut. I am sure this is a pure coincidence. Pizza Face serves thin-crust pizza, pasta and cakes from Les Patisseries.

A blink and you may miss shop at Bugis Cube. There is only one table there, so bakes are mainly for take-away. Owner Chef Joey Ling graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Australia, and spent 2 years working as a part time pastry chef at Sydney’s 360 Bar and Dining restaurant.
