Australia has always been known to be the country of good coffee, and Hudsons Coffee which first originated from Melbourne has opened in Singapore.
The location may not be your most expected choice, at Changi Airport Terminal 3 Transit Area.
That means you can only get to try it when you are departing from Singapore. Bummer.
The coffee chain first started way back in 1998 by long-time friends, Ros Hudson and Mark Hawthorne from England, and they established their first outlet at Elizabeth Street, Melbourne.
Could be a brand strategy, but the Hudsons Coffee after expansion has always been found in airports across Australia.
In terms of coffee, the popular blends are the Premium Blend, which consists of a medium/dark roast and subtle hints of cocoa and vanilla; and Barista’s Choice which is a darker roast with caramel undertones.
While I only ordered an Ice Latte version, I liked the smooth balanced flavour, with slight intense profile.
Easy to take-away food items are available, such as deli sandwiches, wraps, gourmet toasties, muffins, savoury pastries and cakes.
The menu at Changi Airport also includes a range of local flavours including a local favourite, Kaya Toast and Pandan Kaya as well as the Hudsons signature breakfast club.
The outlet seemed to be a lot emptier than next door Pret A Manger, perhaps because it lacked of international presence and awareness. But if you need some coffee before flying off, can consider getting a cuppa here.
