[Johor Bahru] Have you ran out of cafes to explore in the along the alleys at Jalan Dhoby in JB?
Just a short 10-minute walk away from KL Sentral is the newly opened, Muslim-owned café Mrs. Who.
I took a Grab to the destination but later found out that Komtar JBCC was just straight down the road from it.

As a white and minimal café freak, I fell in love with the spacious interiors instantaneously.
On one side lay a white-washed brick wall which served as the backdrop for a communal wooden table.
While on the other side, green sofas and marble tables lined the space, perfect for smaller groups of 2-4 to congregate at.

After a round of photo-taking of the space, I finally settled down and ordered a Hot Mocha (RM12, SGD$3.80) and found it pretty decent.
Turns out that the beans here are from Oriole Coffee.

Initially, I was worried that we would feel cloyed from the Mushroom Ragout (RM23.90, SGD$7.60) which was dominated by mixed mushrooms in a cream base. But the cream turned out to be on the lighter side and not ‘jelat’ (rich) at all.

The Fish on Tortilla (RM25.9, SGD$8.20) was a punch of flavours from the battered dory, salsa, jalapeno, herb chilli, sour cream to the cajun waffle fries on the side.
Definitely tasted better when you wrap it all up!

The Who Fried Chicken Waffles (RM31.90, SGD$10.15) was, in my opinion, my favourite dish amongst the 4 tried.
The main star – the fried chicken – was crispy and juicy, while the waffle was a tad savoury, firm and crisp on the surface.
For an added oomph to the chicken waffle, have a go at the sweet and spicy maple chill. At this price, the portion was satisfyingly huge.
Oh how I have missed this classic brunch dish.

Meanwhile, the Classic Burger (RM28.90, SGD$9.20) came out looking pretty good, especially with a sunny side-up sandwiched in the burger that had a dripping yolk.
The beef patty, though not excellent, was moist and tender enough for me to devour it. The cajun fries were addictive as well.

What surprised me the most was to find that other than a mother-and-daughter duo, we were the only customers there on a weekend.
Having no complaints about all the dishes I tried here, this café has got to be underrated.
And if you are still up for more after the meal, Cheotnun Korean Dessert Café which serves pretty decent bingsu as I’ve heard, is just next door.
Also, kudos to the friendliest and most helpful server I have ever met here, who did not have to but even went out to hail a cab for us.
