We say “Sawadee” to Hotel Indigo, which finally opened its door in this part of the world. Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road is the first Indigo property to open in Southeast Asia. Finally, though Bali and Singapore do not have to wait too long.

What is really unique about this boutique hotel brand is that no two Hotel Indigo hotels are alike. Each hotel is designed to reflect its neighbourhood story.

In Bangkok’s case, you will have a strong sense of creativity and uniqueness from design, space and service which reflects the local culture, character and history.

For example, as Wireless Road was home to the first radio stations in Thailand, you would see custom art pieces, such as a wall at the lobby made up of real wireless radios.

10 Other Reasons Why You Will Like Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road

Let’s start with the food…

1. Western cuisines and locally inspired Thai dishes at Metro On Wireless.

Food is conceptualised by Chef Chamlong “Jimmy” Pewthaisong, the former head chef of Banyan Tree’s Celadon. For breakfast, you can have a choice of BOTH savoury and sweet items such as waffles or pancakes, WITH a mini-buffet spread and cereal bar. It doesn’t get boring.

2. Exciting eats around the Bangkok Wireless Road neighbourhood. One of Bangkok’s most popular deep fried chicken Polo Chicken is found a stroll away in the local neighbourhood.

Hungry? You can also make your way to Gaggan (Asia’s Best Restaurant 2015 – do reserve beforehand), Baan Glom Gig (home-style Thai restaurant), Bamee Gua (Thai pork noodles), Hyde & Seek (Chef Ian Kittichai’s conceptualised gastro bar), Thang Long (modern Vietnamese restaurant) and Wine Bridge Plus (Bangkok’s elite hang out area).

3. Front desk staff who can also make you an aromatic cup of coffee. The ‘barista’ is just a lift-ride downstairs.

4. THE infinity pool. A panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline from the deckchair where you suntan. You need this holiday.

5. 24 hour gym… To burn off those calories you gained from eating around the neighbourhood. Since it is opened all day around, there are no excuses. (Please pack your track shoes into the luggage.)

If you prefer to exercise outdoors, Bangkok’s iconic Lumpini Park is just minutes away.

6. The interior is Beautiful and Bold with a capital ‘B’. I particularly liked the strong use of colours from yellow, blue, deep purple to gold. There is a lot of attention to details. Check in, and have fun exploring them.

7. A bathtub with an outside view at this spa-inspired bathroom. (Not every room gets this view and bathtub. Depends on your room type.)

8. Call me superficial, but the golden colour taps (plus Panpuri toiletries) scream out to me. Gold can be so OTT but it also represent glamour, grandeur and a touch of class.

9. The study table with THIS view. I do spend a substantial amount of time clearing emails and blogging when overseas. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the hotel aside, working on the laptop with this vista makes a whole lot of difference.

10. The people. If Hotel Indigo is a reflection of its neighbourhood story, then its people is a reflection of the warmth and sincerity of the Thais.
