Hole in the wall, a one-man barista coffee place, with charming monochromatic décor, which serves nothing but good coffee, for now.
MavRx Coffee Apothecary has quietly popped up at 1A Duxton Hill, a small outfit with two benches on the sides of the wall. Decor was minimalistic, black and one tiles, a lonesome guitar was spotted on the floor marked with #MavrxCoffee
They call themselves an ‘apothecary’, definitely and aptly, ‘dispensing’ caffeine in Black ($4.50), White ($5) and Espresso ($3). An extra shot at an addition of $1.
A La Marzocco was their machine-for-pride, a medium roast using an All Press blend of Kenyan, Columbian, Brazillian and El Salvador coffee beans.

They know their target. CBD folks in the vicinity who would like something strong to kick-start the day, yet pleasant to sip slowly.
It wasn’t overly acidic that I liked, with a finish that was smothering and lingering. If the cup was a man, he would have been described as rich, smooth, strong and deep.
